Ginger Eye Wash – Refreshing Natural Soother

Benefits 

Fresh ginger tea is a traditional favorite for tired, irritated, or puffy eyes—cooling,  anti-inflammatory, and invigorating. Ginger’s anti-inflammatory compounds (gingerol, shogaol) can soothe irritated eyes and improve circulation around the ocular area. Anecdotes from users report clearer vision, reduced floaters, and comfort from dryness with consistent use. For cataracts? Purely anecdotal—no studies show ginger washes reverse or prevent them. Cataracts are caused from things like high blood sugar and smoking—things that eye solutions can’t reverse. But it reduces oxidative stress or inflammation topically, some people feel improvement in symptoms. (Stay tuned for an article about cataracts).

Overall, it’s a refreshing traditional rinse—great for daily comfort or minor irritation. 

 

Simple Recipe:

• 1.5 cups distilled water or colloidal silver (CS extends shelf life from days to weeks.)
• 15 slices fresh ginger 
• Simmer 10 minutes, strain well (coffee filter for no particles), cool completely.
• Pour into sterile glass bottle. Store in fridge.

Instructions

Add ¼ to 1 tsp of the concentrated solution to 1 cup distilled water.
Fill clean eye cup with diluted solution → blink, blink, blink, circle circle, blink and done → Refreshing! 3–4 times/daily or weekly, or as needed.

Shelf Life with CS Base

Using properly made CS, 10-20 ppm as the base (instead of distilled water) for the concentrated ginger solution is a smart move—it adds antimicrobial support and extends shelf life from a few days to 3–6 weeks refrigerated in a sterile glass bottle (shake before use) Discard if it gets cloudy or off-smelling. Just another money and time saving use for high-quality nano-particle CS made with our brewers. Make small batches and discard if cloudy/off-smelling—ginger’s organic compounds can feed microbes over time.
