Spills and Stains

Spilled iodine? Red wine? Coffee? Beet juice? Blood? Rust?

Grab your vitamin C powder – it’s the non-toxic stain ninja.

One teaspoon ascorbic acid in warm water =

→ Iodine turns clear instantly (yes, it’s supposed to!)

→ Red wine, coffee, berries, blood, rust, old sweat stains… GONE.

How to use: make a paste, apply to stain let sit 10–30 min, rinse. Done.

For hard surfaces scrub stain with the paste.

Your clothes thank you, your skin thanks you, and the planet thanks you.

Quick iodine bonus (because this myth needs to die):

When vitamin C turns your Lugol’s clear, it does NOT destroy or neutralize the iodine.

It simply converts I₂ (brown) → I⁻ (clear iodide) … the exact same thing stomach acid does anyway.

Your body uses the clear iodide perfectly. Brownstein adds vitamin C on purpose because it’s gentler on the stomach and still 100 % effective.

So yes—take your vitamin C with your iodine, and use the same vitamin C to clean up the spills. Win-win. 😼

More detail on the “vitamin C kills iodine” myth coming soon!
