I’ve been asked a lot lately about drinking from copper, and whether you should drink CS from a copper cup.
In India they call overnight copper water tamra jal. You put plain water in a copper vessel at night and drink it in the morning. That is not a replacement for a copper supplement. In the old texts copper is warming, used in small amounts, tied to digestion, skin, the liver, and keeping stored water from going off. Before refrigeration, a copper pot that knocked down cholera, typhoid, and E. coli in standing water was a survival tool. It is not a cancer cure, a weight-loss trick, or an arthritis fixer, no matter what the memes say.
Spring or mineral water gives the gentle trace they actually used. Distilled is a bit more acidic and pulls more copper — still not a measured dose, just a stronger unknown. I use distilled. I don’t leave water in copper all day, and I don’t put lemon, juice, or CS in it. The more acidic the liquid, the more unmeasured copper comes off the wall.
CS and a bare copper cup trade places. Silver in the water can plate onto the copper, and extra copper goes into the drink. You waste some of the silver and you get a mystery copper dose.
So I drink the morning copper water from the copper cup, or pour it into glass if I want it later. CS goes in glass or stainless. The rest of the day I drink plain distilled and get my minerals from food, supplements and elixirs.
Where I bough my cup: www.moscowcopper.com
For CANADA: provisioned.ca/collections/copperware (they don’t always have stock, contact them to inquire)
I don’t sell them. The Amazon one I tried first was junk. These cost more and they last. Get unlined, pure copper. If it’s plated inside, you’re just drinking from a pretty cup.
