I’ve been working in this group for over 8 years. What I wish for most is that everyone who spends time here gains at least some real wisdom about taking control of their own health — the kind that lets them make truly informed choices.
Medical doctors (and plenty of natural ones) rarely give you that knowledge. You’re more likely to hear: “There’s no cure, but we can manage it with this drug that you’ll take for the rest of your life.” (from medical doctors)
Wouldn’t it be better if the doctor said something like this instead?
“You basically have two choices. These pills are the quick, easy route — but they come with side effects that often require more drugs, with more side effects we can’t fully explain or control. Or there’s the diet, supplement, and lifestyle route. It takes more daily work, but it actually gives your body what it needs to heal.” Many people don’t realize there is a choice and that is a crime.
A system built around patented molecules, lifelong prescriptions, and high prescription volume simply doesn’t have strong incentives to prioritize approaches that reduce the need for drugs. Instead we see things like preventative statin prescribing based on age alone. I can assure you — your body is not deficient in statins or any other pharmaceutical drug.
I’m off to make an elixir. My body and my taste buds are simply addicted.
